The Universal People's Federation applauds the peaceful transfer of France to the UMC, and the liberation from its inhabitants. It congratulates the Entiates on their successful diplomacy, and believes that their lack of Terran distractions will prove a great boon as they seek to bring prosperity to Mars, their chosen home. We wait in joyful hope for the coming of socialism to the Entiates in some far-off day, but their friendliness to the earth comrades inclines the Federation to believe that they will one day make this choice on their own and need no external impetus.

In a surprise vote, James Nuvaillois Astor has been elected as First Consul of the Imperium. Running on a very controversial militant anti-communist, pro-human platform, no one really expected him to succeed. However, the elections were unusually divided, and Lord Astor (of the Nationalist Party) was able to secure the victory.

Mr. Astor has promised to rebuild the "old Cyon" and reunite "the true Latin Empire". He promises extensive reforms and increased national security. He is extremely popular in the more rural regions of the Imperium and among former miners and refinery workers. He is also popular in the colonies.

He has appointed former classmate and computer/encryption expert Juana Santos as head of the intelligence department.

When your platform is controversially right-wing even for Cyon, you know you’re a wackjob.

Oh? France is no long held by an off-world power?

A beautiful new marriage has been declared between Yonatan Muskita, future Prime-Chief of the Jayadi-Patallia Tribe and Uhuva Voreche, next in line to run Laudose Enterprises, one of the largest industrial subsidiaries in the Consortium's Entinates.

The Jayadi-Patallia Tribe have been led by a Muskita since before the short-lived princedom was integrated into Aresia proper. They rank as one of the 3 most powerful chiefdoms in the nation of Damaris, where they maintain control of several key crater-lakes that have supported a vibrant overland trade between Baun, the Lestari Confederation, and Damaris itself. They are notoriously protective of these crucial trade routes and have occasionally gone to war with rival Damaris and Lestari factions when their prized techno-caravans have been harmed.

Their alliance with the Voreches, a Szal-Baujantecois family that traces its nobility to before the first lunar apocalypse, may be a way by which they can secure their power for good. The Voreches are close to the increasingly influential Zuibopaults via it's patriarch's marriage to "Prince" Belenhaar's older sister. The family is also closely tied to Baun's commercialized military culture. A visibly perturbed Jan'isi Haatene has stated her country's "nobility" do not act on behalf of her country.

For Uhuva's part, whenever she travels with the battle-hardened Yonatan she glows with affection for the new commercial relationships that their families' union holds. The Jayadi-Patallia (named after the southern territory they initially settled) seem to be allowed to pedal Laudose goods directly in their caravans while the Southerly Cities (semi-independent Szalchian majority cities) get access to more Jayadi seasonal labor, building on historic freedom of movement agreements.

Uhuva will spend her time in the Jayadi city of Roam, the nomadic city and birthplace of her husband. She'll be spending her time coordinating the Janisist priests that have been allowed to enter Jayadi territory. Said priests have been invited by nearby chiefdoms that wish to see expanded economic ties with the wealthy Voreche-Zuibopault families.

"By the Gods, they're literal money-fetishists now. Like, I know we said that before, but seriously, not even the Sybians were as physically attracted to the greenbacks as this Baunairi family," says the Federal Commissar for Martian Affairs.

"Hot damn I know they didn't fight us in the Belt War, which was swell, but by Ge'Em's beard, this marriage combines all sorts of things which true revolutionary thought shuns," she continues. "Concentration of wealth on family lines? Check. Arranged marriages to keep the classes distinct? Oh yeah. Marriages of politics and money? Yup. Strange, parallel power structures based on personal loyalty outside the official institutions of the state? Throw in two eggs and you got a full recipe for trouble there."

When speaking at a press conference about the upcoming Aresian marriages, "Prince" Belenhaar was asked a question about the Venusian opposition to his family's recent relationships. He stated:
I don't worry about the obsessive ravings of a species that up until recently practiced arranged marriages and brainwashed its people. Mars is a planet of love, and these marriages are proof of it. Whatever commercial or political ties that result from these unions is a byproduct of my family's devotion to pan-Martian progress. These sentiments are shared by everyone who marries into the Zuibopault line and it's unfortunate that there seem to be offworld busybodies opposed to that. But me and the rest of my family won't let that stop us, it's a distraction. Now let me tell you how we convinced the best chefs from Ralis to cater at these weddings. Quite the story.

The Federal Reserve is the main component of the Federal Armed Forces. These hundred million part-time soldiers train one weekend a month and two weeks a year, preparing to defend the nation from foreign threats. Usually, these trainings take place somewhere like That Farm Down the Street, with occasional stops in the bar to perform "training."

However, due to some truly impressive fundraisers, a Cadre of reservists (roughly 1500 soldiers) has managed to save up the money and acquire enough grants to do their two-week training in Germany. Renting out … well, basically an entire campsite … they are practicing "field cooking" (smores) and "dismounted movement" (hiking along the waterfall trails). Cross-cultural training is also a major focus of the yearly training program, which for these soldiers includes seeing the largest museums in Mattopian Germany as well as major historical landmarks.

The logistics officer plans on "procuring resources for future operations" and it is highly likely that they will return to Venus with enough alcohol to conduct the remainder of their weekend trainings for the year.

Han Pluto leaving the Commander cockpit as he looks around, “Today is the day, nigh is the hour of reckoning. We have made deals and more. But now, now we reclaim our birthright. We return to the home of Cornelius! The land of the Collective. The Corps members alongside a negotiated with esteemed allies and worthy enemies have decided a peaceful separation of China.”

Pluto walks forward raising his hand, “To Hearth And Home! For Domuia!”
