Am I still a Classicists

It may seem like an odd question, but I took a long break (but I don't believe I NMR's or surrendered). Because of my break I'm not sure if I'm still a member of not. If I'm not a member I would like to be once I have a couple more games done.

Your name is on the list of Gold Members.

Until you recently completed a game, your last action on PlayDip was way back in 2011, when you surrendered a position late in a game. Link. If the Classicist rules were strictly enforced, you'd be relegated back to bronze. However, given the passage of time, it'll be interesting to see whether the mods will have mercy on you.

I have never surrendered and never NMR'd, and hope to keep that alive. Never mind, the perfect run has come to an end. Dammit, DAMMIT, DAMMIT.

@Iamnobody

Do you have any recollection about why you surrendered that game? I know it was forever ago, but anything helps.

We have a couple of new mods, and we’re trying to sort some stuff at the moment. We’ll probably talk a bit about your case when we have some time. Even if you’re bumped back to bronze you’re still a classicist though!
You don't know what I'm thinking...because I don't know what I'm doing.

Honestly, I couldn't even tell you why. I'm sure it was out of frustration, but I don't remember many details.

I'm not trying to petition and say that I must be a Gold member or anything to that effect. I just knew that I was a part at one time and wanted to be a part again.

Also, where can I find my NMR and Surrender rate. I can't seem to find that.

Hi Iamnobody

We three active mods have now looked at this and reached a unanimous decision.

First up thanks for your enquiry and for mentioning the surrender in your penultimate completed game 8 years ago.

There's no time limit on Classicist membership once you've joined regardless of how often you've recently played, so you still very much belong to the group.

Your current Gold level status does however require no surrenders in the 15 preceding games, despite the length of time since yours, along with a 98% turn completion rate which you are currently just below.

In fairness to the whole Classicist community we need to try and apply the rules consistently, so the decision we have reached is to now reclassify you at Bronze level.

Once you've completed 5 more Rank/No Rank games since the surrendered one you will be eligible for promotion back to Silver (95% turn rate also required) in the usual way.

Hope I've explained all that OK but if you've any questions please let me know.

All the best

Hello Caladruis,

Thank you for looking into this. As I said over PM I'm good with this and it is very fair which is all I'm looking for. I hope to never surrender again.
