Well... (Mafia Question)

Postby condude1 » 04 Oct 2017, 05:25

I have a game for 12 players that I completely forgot I'd created. I may or may not have done it while bored in Indonesia ;) . It's a devilish little thing that requires players to pass through challenges based on co-ordination, problem-solving, communication etc.

If you guys want me to run this, as a first foray into tricky mechanics, I'm up for it. I have all the flavour text, mechanics, etc. written up already. I could get the rules ready by the weekend.

If I get enough interest here, I'll run it. I'm a bit worried, because I feel like we can't play a game with 12, but I could change it up and make it for a smaller number easily enough.

We're playing ModernExtended with 14 right now. Played in WorldDip with 18 a couple of years ago. Big games with lots of players are a lot of fun. Recruiting takes a while longer.

Woops, I should probabyl specify. This is a mafia game, not a diplomacy game. I'll edit the title to make that clear.

Oops, sorry about invading your thread. I know nothing about Mafia. Best of luck in recruiting!

You should give it a go. It's very intense and very fun.

Haha, it was my mistake. I generally feel pretty comfortable with mechanics ideas I float, but the only problem is that we're currently in a drought of players. I wanted to get an idea of how many people we could muster before putting this into signups.

If you're ever interested, feel free to sign up to any game really. We won't bite (too hard).

From a newish player perspective, all the games being put forward at the moment seem to have pretty complicated mechanics, which definitely puts me off a bit. At the moment, I'd prefer simpler games. Second chance was great. That being said, I'd be willing to play, I think.

How many people ever scroll down this far? I doubt many. This forum has real bad UX in that way, with all those stickies requiring you to scroll way past the fold to see new posts.
Did you know there’s a faceless old woman who secretly lives in your home? It’s true. She’s there now. She’s always there, just out of your sight. Always just out of your sight.

It comes up in active topics and appears on playdip homepage.

Fair enough. I'll hold off on this, since Telleo's game seems to have momentum, and Sjg's may be soon to follow. I'll sneak a game like this in one of these times, no worries!
