The reason of the self vote? It was just a bait, I wanted to provoke you all, hoping to one or another emotional word, that could help you at your decision today. And secretly I hoped Sig and Nanook would jump on the train and vote Jack, so I could say look, they both vote against me. Then I again would have said: "Whoever votes Jack007 are the scum." I love such sentences with whoever... :)

1. So you were trying to provoke me and nanook? What made you think that me and nanook would be successfully provoked by a Jack self-vote?

Well, it was a try. With very modest success. You were provoked just a very tiny little bit. You said you would expect me better trolling than that.

Believe it or not, that particular comment was a joke. ;)

But if it is WIFOM then it's a lottery and no analysis of nanook is gonna be reliable? And if nanook's choices are reliable then it's not WIFOM?

Yes, I can't even say you are wrong. I think it's reliable, could also be twice WIFOM. But it's not important what I think, I know who is town as you know, too. It depends on Telleo and Zoomzip solely, and nothing I say would convince them.

So what do you suggest? A draw?

I mean, I'm in a very comfortable and relaxed position actually. I even don't have to lie. And for any outcome whatsoever, I cannot be made responsible. For my personal win I made my pile already, as mentioned earlier. So what shall I say? I don't need to say anything. Any outcome makes it a successful game for me.

Yeah, I was very amused. And as in every good joke there was even a modicum of truth.

And now something completely different. Has nothing to do with the game. Just forget the game for a moment.

I promised you a picture from the sailing trip, but there was no internet out there, so I couldn't abide. Instead, I have written today a little trip report for you, with a few pictures embedded.

A cruise to Whitehaven

We had to start very early in the morning, at 03:45 to be exact, because of the tides. The gate at the marina in Douglas, Isle of Man, opens only 2 hours both sides of high water. So it was still dark when we called the harbor master on VHF channel 12, to open the swing bridge, and let us pass. We stored the fenders and ropes while slowly running through the outer harbor, and when we reached the higher waves of the open sea, we were all done.

The night was beautiful, with a pale moon longing down to the west. Soon already the sky got brighter, followed by a stunning sunrise, exactly in front of us, as our course was 50° (northeast). We had the wind flat from behind, and because our ketch TIMOTEUS doesn't like the wind blowing into her ass, so to speak, we had to alter the course a bit to starboard and port, instead of following straight to the line drawn on the map.

Anyway, a splendid day. Here a look out of the windows of the deck saloon. (Note the round mirror on the left top, showing myself taking the foto with my smartphone.)

It was nice sailing. No other ship was seen, we were alone, except of some birds: Gannets, Common Guillemots and Terns. Later I took this picture from the cockpit. The Saint Bees Head is already in sight, which means that we would reach our aim Whitehaven in about two hours.

The wind was freshening up, and with 7.5 knots we rushed into the harbor of Whitehaven, and through the open sea lock into the inner harbor, where the marina is. Here you see everything already fixed and tighten. The ship with the Swiss flag is ours. :)

Of course, the journey was not yet terminated. After 10 hours on sea, the ground seemed to sway, forth and back. We headed in direction to our real destination, and as I saw the girls in front of the pub, I knew that we had arrived to the right place.

Inside everything was perfect. Pale ale, food, laughter... what more does a sailor expect from life?

Seems like a sweet trip Jack.

But I'm voting you now anyway. I think the attitude of "this is a win for me either way" is the kind of thing I might expect from a converted town player who thinks he's done a good job, but is now facing a loss if he's lynched as scum.

So, you know... Going into D4, I felt kinda certain that Nanook would probably target SJG. I mean, the willingness of the remaining town to vote Jack can't be questioned, and SJG has been able to clutch win as scum in some end game scenarios. So D4 I kept being surprised that Jack seemed to be the one thrown off course. I am basically of the same mind as of Telleo: Had this truly been a D4/D5 of equal parts, I would probably be voting SJG, but the weirdness of JAck's D4 doesn't play right. The "I can lead you to a solution on D5" also... doesn't need to be delayed until D5. Paranoid me would suggest he was looking to see if someone might suggest a narrative he could latch onto. Also, suggesting a draw seems... wrong.

Anyways, Jack. Nice photos and I will be sure to note the following:

1) Nanook utterly outplayed me D1.
2) Jack as town was faster to the right answer than I was.

You're wrong, Zoomzip. I'm town. You'll have to add:

3) I terribly failed D3 and D5

The other way round, Telleo, as I said already.

Yes, I did a good investigative and combinatorial work, but then I failed to convince you about the results in D2. Apparently I fail again to convince you about the truth. Unlike Columbo, I couldn't just call the sergeants to arrest the delinquent, after having solved the case. Instead I had to convince you all, and I must admit, I don't know how to do so. Same now, I have no clue how to convince you of the truth. The more I speak, the worse it gets.

I'm town, Telleo. In the AAR your going to tell me, how one should play in the situation I am actually.
