Crime based RP

Play as a Suspect in a Murder Mystery and try to erase all Clues and Evidence on you, or play as the detective in a race against time to Solve the mystery before your Rival(s?).
Set in the near Future after a devastating Plague, the Murderer is not known yet and you can build up the Story, the world allows for doing things outside the case!

Inventory and money ( should be reasonable, don't start with 10 different guns for a lone serial killer, but 30 guns is OK for Mafia)

A few questions on this:

1. About how long will this run? I can play for a few weeks, but once I'm back in school, I don't want something eating up too much time.
2. Should I publicly announce who I choose for a character? It seems kinda sketchy if I publicly state I want to be a serial killer .
3. Do we have rules, objectives, or something similar? Or is it more of a free-for-all RP?

It's a free for all, except everyone has an objective. Yes you to announce publicly(don't worry, this is just a game my boy, juuust a game ) this gonna continue until the murderer is arrested. You can have your own objective, but your primary objective given by your role.
- if you are a suspect, you have to destroy evidence.
- if you are a detective then you will have to protect and discover evidence and complete the case before your rival.
- if you are a journalist, then you have to find evidence and write up stories, without being discovered.

Name: Il Mangiatore
Traits I want to add: While not above using weapons to cripple someone, Il Mangiatore likes to finish the job with his bare hands. He's known for his elaborate traps, designed to weaken his prey before he finishes them off. He is sometimes paid by the mafia to kill targets they fear are too risky for them to go after themselves.
Secondary Objectives: Be directly responsible for the deaths of three people.
Inventory and money:
1 shotgun, loaded with shot designed to injure, but not kill.
1 handgun, as an emergency self-defense weapon.
An assortment of knives, which he is highly proficient in.
20,000 dollars, courtesy of the mafia paying him for some jobs.
