Good things will come of currency. It's definitely an AYE for me. I'd encourage others to help this along. Truly. Also, I fail to see how the book operates when it specifically asks for currency to be named...I could see ZZ's point if it strictly dealt with the transfer of points, but that's not the way it's worded. If you like the book, as written, I think you need 307 as well.

I also like the book. It's a definite go for me.

I really like that this proposal allows for the transfer of any currency at almost any time, and gives some motivation to create many more forms of currency. The Book is an exciting addition with as much betting on the part of the House as the gamblers.

I can't legally cast a vote for the Thing, but I think it's clear how I feel about it :)

Yes, I think I know what you are getting at :) . Here is my own personal view, for what it's worth :)

We have found over the previous games that the base rule set is actually in itself inadequate. In fact, I remember in at least one game we started with a modified version to correct some of the problems with the base set. I have to say that technically I think you are right, but that if you take that position forwards the game ceases to have any meaning.

116. Whatever is not prohibited or regulated by a rule is permitted and unregulated, with the sole exception of changing the rules, which is permitted only when a rule or set of rules explicitly or implicitly permits it.

This is the rule you mean, isn't it? And I think you are pointing out that if I want to transfer points to another player, or any other currency, I can do that without any rule change because of 116. But follow that through; so although the rules say you get points for proposals, and the winner is the first player to get to 200, they do not say that there are no other ways to get points other than what are specified in the rules, which is the big oversight. There is a hint towards this in 112, where it says
The magnitude of n and the means of earning points may be changed

Arguably this rule suggests the ways of earning points are set by the rules because otherwise there is no need to specify that these means may be changed.

But as things stand of course, since 116 is written the way it is, you could argue that you could simply post that you were taking everyone else's positive points, and that you had now reached 200 (when the aggregate is 200) since there is nothing explicit tying the means of earning points with the Nomic process (although we all know it is strongly implied just by the nature this is a game). If we acknowledge this and accept that the game makes no sense if points changes are not restricted to what is specified in the rules, then C4 does indeed need this rule proposal to allow points to be transferred or earned by betting etc..

Just as a warning, I'm not sure if zz's thing vote and crunk/pagane's votes in general are valid. I think they may have occurred less than 48 hours after I posted my proposal (due to daylight savings in the us)

Side note: I now have a google spreadsheet up for the game scorekeeping. Will certainly help when we start doing gambling if it passes.
