Fall 1997, and farewell to Egypt

Postby Pedros » 23 Nov 2013, 16:42

And the forward march of Italy and Turkey goes on, whilst we lose mambam's Egypt to their combined strength. Germany, Russia and Spain are also in increasing trouble while France looks doomed. Thanks for the attempt mambam; I think Egypt seems definitely under-powered on this map, but more of that in the AARs.

One interesting Wings point - Italy's use of a Wing to bounce his own army in Croatia is clearly in the spirit of Diplomacy rules and definitely OK with these rules, but somehow you can't see aerial power being used on your own troops to prevent them advancing :?: :!:

Three retreats needed - Germany from Alsace (also loses its Wing in Frankfurt), Russia from St Petersburg and Ukraine from Rostov. Retreats please by 1500 GMT (1000 EST, 2300 Beijing) on Sunday 24 November

In this example, why not suppose I just dropped napalm or posion gas along the CRO-HUN border. My tropps turn around in lieu of suicide and the wing returns to Apulia.

And the last neutral center finally falls. It only took me 4 years to take a completely uncontested center right next to one of my home centers :)

Rostov RETREAT to Caucasus

Just out of curiosity, if a wing attacks a space and no unit tries to move there, does that prevent the space from being retreated into?

As usual, the Cavalry have ridden to the rescue of an abandoned and dwindling nation! sjg11 has taken over the government of Spain in place of traitor11.

Retreat deadline as previously, but the Build phase will last 48 hours to allow negotiations.

It wouldn't matter as one of my home centers is occupied, but I'm at 15 SC not 16 and only have 3 builds
