Deadlines

Just wondering what the order deadline "twice a day" means to the game. Like each player has two chances to move per day or something?

It means the deadline is every 12 hours. Thus, you technically order twice a day.

So in a game that has the set up as orders twice a day, retreats twice a day, and builds twice a day, you have 12 hours to submit orders, then 12 hours to retreat, then 12 hours to build, and so on. Now, if it's the same set-up, except orders are set to once a day, then you have 24 hours to order, 12 to retreat, and 12 to build. Etc etc, for any combination.

Do we have a grace period after the deadline to send our orders or we are immediatly in civil disorders?

Civil disorder is not used in this game at the present, as far as I know. All your units will just hold their present position.

There is no grace period, as far as I know.

OK so what are the consequences of being late?

You issue no orders to your troops that season/phase.

If it is a retreat phase, you unit is destroyed (if forced to retreat).
If it is a build phase, you build no units.
If it is a Spring/Fall phase, none of your units move or support (no orders issued).

ahh. Most games I have played in civil disorder caused a loss of one unit per Fall that no orders were issued

In another post Avalanche said that after 3 "moving" turns if someone has not sent in any moves that they will automatically be surrendered (which puts them into Civil Disorder - ie. just sits there until someone attacks a unit with support, which destroys it).

Because that's a drag when someone has just abandoned the game and no one is sure if they're gone or not, it hopefully will be sped up to 2 moving turns. (ie. not including retreat and build moves)
