In what ways is it inferior?

I heard on web dip there is no group messaging which kind of negates stop the leader scenarios.

Yes sure.. there are many ways to play Diplomacy.

The problem may be the rough quantity of games. 6 games at the Online Dip Chamionship, 3-6 games at the Nexus, maybe a little Gunboat tournament, etc. who can afford that all. If I remember well I played maybe 4 games or so in the whole last year.

Apart of that is the Nexus a C-Diplomacy tournament, just to be clear. I'm not so much a friend of C-Diplomacy (center count dip). But it might be a good exercise for those planning to go WDC or other FTF conventions.

I have seven on the go right now.

ODC isn’t going to be a 6 game commitment for the majority of players, only those who make it to the final board. For most people it’s only going to be a 2-4 game commitment.

So I created an account. Seem to be able to gave a conversation with myself. Just like a lot of the games I play on this site. I regard myself as quite IT literate, but Discord seems a little non-intuitive.

Some like to play mobile for instance. There is better ways do play mobile than playdiplomacy.
(I know nothing of webdip. I suspect it is fake news. But maybe not.)

I went through that phase half a year ago. Its not what you expect of it. Both a leap forwards and backwards. Channels like IRC or ICQ but quite a few nifty possibilities. I am discovering new things every day.

I am playing both Webdip and Playdiplomacy on my mobile, Ipad and PC. All are fine and easy to manage.

No doubt. Backstabbr has a fine mobile interface too. But it's not superior to conspiracy in terms of user interface. It's a pretty neat app.
I'm not telling you you should play there though. There is reasons not to. Playing per IM makes it a very different game. And the playerbase has no clue of the history of the game.
