Holidays ect

Postby todiefor » 01 Feb 2018, 21:28

I would just like to know if any provision has been made for holidays ,weekends away, illness ect during which you might have no access to a computer
I really don't want to lose out when I can't do anything about it
By the way my wife say's not going on holiday's is not an option

Entertaining that suggestion, gives a guide as to how you chose your pseudonym:-)

When games are set up selected dates can be excluded from processing. Other than that there is a “pause” method within the game to exclude subsequent periods, but ONLY IF ALL participants agree. They usually do of course. Enjoy the holidays.

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished.

Yes, please add the "Wife says no Dippin'" checkbox to the exclusion dates when setting up a new game...

You can also get a temp sub for the game if they won't do a pause.

Holidays/weekends away should be known about enough in advance and the pause request used. As above you can also use a sub if you want the game to keep going but I imagine most people prefer the pause. In my experience there is never a problem with getting these accepted.

Illness... well some things can't be planned. I imagine that if you are lying about in your bed all day with a case of man flu (see if Pootle calls me on that one!) then I imagine that is the perfect time for diplomacy!! Obviously anything serious and totally out of the blue just can't be planned for and everyone knows these will lead to the odd missed order etc. Not a lot I (or anyone) can do about that. Other than not kick you out of the league of course :)

Also, with technology these days, I imagine it isn't too hard to sneak on your phone on holiday and tap out a quick message and enter a set of orders. We've all done it...
