Ironcladsoldier has failed to submit orders and has been auto surrendered. They have therefore been evicted from the league. Owing to the likely loss of the power in the game, having one remaining unit surrounded by opposition, a replacement is likely not needed in the game as any found will not be in the game before the next phase deadline.
As there are no further games to be created a replacement is not needed in the league. The player will still be able to complete their other active PDL game from which they haven’t surrendered, albeit without collecting any league points for that game.
This will leave the league with a gap and as we have no further reserve players I am proposing that this remains the case. Any future reserve signups may be needed to fill spots in live games and it is not prudent to sign someone up, give them a position in the league and they never play a game, when they may be needed to fill live spots.
Reference to the Cesspitt case
Earlier in the year, Cesspitt failed to submit orders and was auto surrendered when they had one unit remaining in a similarly hopeless position. They were not evicted from the league. We have ruled that this is a sufficiently different case as to warrant a different decision, with Cesspitt failing to submit orders in a FALL RETREATS phase where they had already lost their last SC. Their surrender therefore had no impact on the game as the retreat must have been immediately followed by a disband. Ironcladsoldier failed to submit orders in a FALL MOVES phase. However seemingly hopeless this position was, there were diplomatic possibilities, there was no certainty of attack and retreat followed by disband and support could have prevented a successful attack. The surrender has had a small but knowable impact on the game.
