But, just to be the first, You did an excellent job GMing this thing, Nanook. Thank you and thanks to all players making MY first full forum game a fun experience.

I will post some further comments but for now I want to thank Nanook for doing a first rate job as our GM and to thank all the players for taking part in the game. I think the game itself is interesting and intense though I might suggest a few tweaks but leave that for later.

Aye, Gaul is a bit like turkey - get rid of Russia (Etruscans) and they have alot more space.

It is a pain that you cant build on both sides of italy - fleet wise - maybe there should be a rule allowing the allocation of a (one?) non home SC for ship building (only?)

I don't see this as necessary myself...everyone has the same issue except Magna Graecia, who can easily send fleets both directions but has different expansion issues. It helps keep the game balanced unit wise too, in my opinion, as it doesn't let you dominate with a heavy dose of fleets and just an army or two.

Not sure just as gaul I wouldn't have been able to expand more on the left due to the roman fleets and having to blockade every space with units

That feels more like a situation from this particular game, rather than a situation of the map specifically, if that makes sense.

gaul only has one way to expand....

I disagree. I see two options for it, depending on the diplomatic relations. It doesn't seem to me to be a foregone conclusion, that Gaul has only one direction to go.
