Well here is a simple question with no simple answer, how does one start to becoming a GM? Is there a "ride along" type thing here or ????

Curious and interested.

See here: GMs Start Here subforum. Top two threads are on the GM certification process, and there's also a list of games that are good starters.

Briefly, you're asked to run one of the simpler variants first, and sometimes Morg will ask you to have a "2nd Eyes" experienced GM on hand to double-check.

It's admittedly sort of a hassle, but a couple years back there was a spate of games abandoned by new GMs, so... a process was implemented. And it's not that much of a hassle.

How do I pronounce the acronym "PbFDip" in conversation?

I can't say it around my little girl. She at the stage where she hears "Pee" and goes nuts with laughter.

What makes the difference between an average GM and a great GM?

But seriously...the number one thing is consistency. Getting order resolved on a deadline is probably the most important thing. Minimal errors in adjudication is a plus (but everyone makes the occasional one) but not bailing and getting orders done quickly/consistently.

Honestly, I think all the GM's we have here are great

I call it "Lead Fluoride Dip".

But my name starts with a "U", so take it with a grain of PbF salt...
