In the early 1980's my aunt won a shopping spree at the local mall, and gave me a gift certificate from the game store. It was then as a young teenager I first laid my hands on Diplomacy!
It is a good thing that many of my friendships were forged early in life and already strong, as countless hours were consumed by this amazingly simple yet stunningly complex game of treachery and backstabbing. Although we remain friends today, we are scattered far and wide. I have not played a full-on 7 player game of Diplomacy in 30 years!!!
Somehow during the doldrums of the pandemic, I stumbled on this site. I had nearly forgotten how much I love this game, win, lose or draw.
I am very excited to be here and look forward to befriending and betraying you!

Same here! I was introduced to Diplomacy back in the 1980's on an online forum called Compuserve. I played a lot back then but when Compuserve folded I moved on. I was very interested to find this site and look forward to getting my feet wet again. I hope to meet some of you all in game.
