Newbie - Jeb!/Picard

Hello,
Shalom,

I am known on the web by two pseudonyms: Picard (as in Jean-Luc, Captain of the Enterprise), and Jeb! (my Starbucks ordering name in reality). I bring with me a mix of play-by-forum, online judge, and face-to-face dippy experience.
I am originally from the state of Israel (and speak fluent Hebrew), but have resided in the US (in the SF Bay Area) since the summer of 2011.
I am part of a group, residents of the soon-to-be-defunct https://thesmallrealm.proboards.com/, which has decided to move our activities here to PlayDip. We've played our share of PbF games (the latest was an A&E match I GMed, in which Austria reached 14 SCs before being foiled at the last minute by all the others), as well as playing other, non-Diplomacy PbF games. Our core group has been together across several sites and nearly 5 years, but we're always out to meet new people.
My own activity here, like my interest in Dippy, is likely to wax and wane over time. I'm out to play, GM, and to someday get back to a variant I've started designing (the Middle East in 1974).
I look forward to backstabbing you all.

Best regards,
Jeb! (or Picard, for you TSR folks).

I should follow suit and say hello in here to you all. :)

Greetings, PlayDiplomacy,
I'm that Austria who was this close to a solo in that A&E game . Perhaps I really should get around to writing an EOG statement in the AAR archives whenever I have both the time and energy.
No hard feelings, guys? ;)

As part of The Small Realm community, I'm hoping to expand our gaming greater than before too!
I'm an experienced diplomacy player/GM, and also had served as a staff, hosted at least several non-Diplomacy games. I dabble in variant designing/rebalancing a bit.

May your knife be ever duller than mine! ;)

Resistance is futile.
Or, well, is it? In Diplomacy, it can be anything but. Defeat (or a 4-way draw) is so often snatched from the jaws of victory when the colossus power of the game, close to victory though s/he may be, stumbles over the united front of the minnows.
Source: the last game I GMed, and the last game I played (in which I was said colossus).

I was clapping at the fact it was Locutus who said it to Picard..! I mean, what are the odds of stumbling on such a perfect pun on the forums one day? I simply have to clap again, I'm so happy xD

An (un)related question: is there a bad Patrick Stewart movie or series?

The Emoji Movie. Easy.

Also, Jeb, clap. I salute you, sir.
Please clap.
