I'm glad you had a great time! :)

I'm sad to have missed the pic, I was thinking the last board was at 9:30 like the other mornings.

Siobhan Nolen has been playing since about then too, I think. So it’s possible. Probably more common for kids that play to be playing because their parents introduced them, and certainly for kids that travel to events to be traveling with their parents (for obvious reasons).

Oh yeah, I heard about Siobhan. Her dad played though.

So how the heck did Jorge convince his parents to let him take a plane and go play a game with a bunch of adults?

He’s good at negotiating.

Was fun to play with everyone last weekend! I ran into a couple of fellow play dip players, but I don't think anyone recognized my username when I told them (probably because I've been inactive for a couple years). I'm Jorge Zhang. As Nanook said, I've been playing FtF since I was 14 thanks to a very welcoming and friendly hobby. Lot's of people offered to help me get to worlds this year, including Craig who let me room with him for the weekend. I'm 18 now, so my parents have gotten used to me going to tournaments by now haha.

Nook and Aeschines, I'm impressed ;)
Also, well done Conq!

Looks like everyone had a great time!

I wanna come next year!

Oh, one more thing. Can someone explain this score to me?
1 Andrew Goff 74.103 19.141 42.606 0 51.579 206.171
2 Doug Moore 74.854 67.523 0 100 1.053 267.773
If Doug's final score was 267.773 how the hell is he second? Are those even decimals numbers or am I reading it completely wrong xD?

Goff won the top board, so even though Doug had a higher tournament score, Goff won the tournament.

The World Championship (#1 spot) is decided entirely by the winner of the top board. The rest of the standings fall in order of total score over the course of the tournament.

Interesting rule. Probably makes sense - in case it wasn't like that all would gang up on the board leader right from the beginning.
