Hello from Maryland

Hi to all, this is my second game on PDO. I'm 40, from Carroll Co., MD and have been playing the game for years, but only sporadically. I actually own three sets. I love the game but have never won it (I guess that will come with greater practice).

My name is actually Colin but I am on here as "JimHacker". The Rt. Hon. James Hacker, M.P. is a fictitious British politician in the BBC sitcoms Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, a long-time favorite of mine (or favourite). I started a couple of games here and named them after episodes of the show.

Looking forward to making some great friends, and then possibly stabbing them in the back like the duplicitous little b****** I am.

Oh, and I will most likely be at the World Diplomacy by PTKS in Washington this October. Hope to see some of you there.

HELLO MARYLAND

*waves from Scotland*

You have AWESOME taste in television programmes!

If you like Yes, Minister, you will LOVE the original British version of House of Cards with Ian Richardson. Classic clever Brit TV. Ian Richardson does this Shakespeare thing of having dialogue with the audience all the way through. He's just beautifully evil (reminds me of GPD. ).

P.S. Welcome to the new Minister of Administrative Affairs

Hello fellow Marylander! I live near Andrews Air Force Base, right outside DC in Prince George's county. If we have any more Diplomacy players in the area, I would love to play a F2F game. The first game I ever played was F2F and that was my only one ever. Would love another live game.

Hello Marylander! I am a recent transplant from MD to VA - kicked around the beltway about to Falls Church.

There is a thriving (20-years+) Washington DC face to face hobby, the Potomac Tea and Knife Society. Games from Baltimore to the Rappahannock. www.ptks.org or PM me for details! World Dip Con 30 is in October at the Connecticut Ave Hilton - you should come out and play!

Hello Jim Hacker!

I'm in Maryland too - actually in Mount Airy, but I'm in Frederick County, not the Carroll County side.

Welcome to the site!

Welcome! I used to live in Carroll county, but recently moved to Montgomery. I've been told that it's weird that Marylanders always identify themselves by county, but it seems totally normal to me.

Definitely join PTKS - hopefully I'll see you at a local game in the DC/MD metro area!

Bah. Identifying by county is no weirder than the Jersey folks who identify by their exit off of 95.

HipAlbatross, where in Montgomery are you? I grew up in Montgomery.

Cool - I went to Richard Montgomery High School (for a year while Ma was on sabbatical in DC). HipAlbatross, who are you when you're at a F2F game? :)
