Newbie Question

Hi, My name's Andy - age 40 -odd - living up in Lancashire in the UK.

I haven't played diplomacy for years, but I'm keen to give it a go again.

I'm a bit confused by parts of the site and I wonder if anyone could give me a bit of guidance - If I join a game, how do I submit orders and how do I contact other players?

You will be able to contact other players using the private message system ingame. Click on "Messages" and you will see a listing of all the other nations and if there is a number next to them [example: England (1)], it means you have an unread message from them. Then you can reply to that message. If you want to send a new message, you click on "Compose" and you can send out messages by checking the box next to the nation or nations you wish to send a message to.

Orders are done by clicking on your unit (or the country it occupies) and a list of order will appear [hold, support, move, and convoy (fleets only)] and you select the move you wish to make. Follow the prompts on the bottom of the screen and set the order. You can review your orders by clicking on "Orders" and see what you have listed for moves for that phase.
