New to online Diplomacy

Postby vancello » 29 Jan 2008, 01:41

Hello! It has been a long time since I last played Diplomacy board-style and I've never played online. However, this site looks really great and I can't wait to get a game going. I apologize in advance for any blunders I commit.

I read through the Help page and everything seems pretty clear. However, I was just wondering: how is correspondence mediated? Is it all done through email or is there some Private Message function on this website?

Looking forward to getting started,
Vancello

Two fold, there is a PM style system for inter-nation dealing. Then there is the shoutbox, which is like a public message for all players to view.

Fantastic. Thank you for the quick response.

Still, how do people play games that have orders twice a day (not to mention once a day)? I can't imagine having enough time to diplomacize.

The first round always takes a while longer to get diplomacy started.

You have to learn to say a lot with a little...
