New User intro and a question

Postby tcomfort » 25 Feb 2008, 05:15

Hi everyone-

I've recently played my first game of Diplomacy and I'm pretty much hooked.

Is there a way to learn the interface on my own without having seven unique players? I want to figure it all out before I host an upcoming game.

Thanks!

Welcome tcomfort!

The interface is very simple to use. It simply involves clicking on relevant territories. For any unit, clicking on that unit's territory will provide you with your available options at that point:

Move
Support
Convoy
Retreat
Destroy

If you are moving or retreating, you will select that, then click on the territory you are moving to.

If you are supporting, you will then click on the territory of the unit you are supporting, and then the territory that unit is moving to. If the unit is holding, you click on the same territory it's in again.

If you are convoying, you will click on the unit you are convoying, and then the territory it is convoying to.

It's pretty simple really. Let us know if you still have any questions.

Thanks for the responses!

I guess that means there is no way to play a solo game.

Nah,

Just get out there and play games. If you make a couple mistakes just chalk it up to the learning curve.

C'est la vie!

Cheers,
