Also interested.
Sooner or later the man who wears two faces forgets which one is real... and thus a stabbing occurs!

Thanks for expressing the interest. Got a couple of things to sort out - for this game and elsewhere on the Forum - before running this but keep an eye for the sub-forum being set up.

I'll post the rules for PBF (play-by-Forum) there as well as the rules of the game.

I played it several times a lot of years ago... perhaps I had a copy of the game in some forgotten box in my garage...

If it's playable on the forum I like try to play it again...

Were they advanced rules, or was a reboot of Kingmaker that had dice for combat results? (Or am I imagining it?)

From what I remember, the dice were advanced rules. There was certainly a set of advanced Combat rules, involving setting nobles out in battle lines. Never played them... didn't really see any point to them.

The Advanced and Expansion rules were introduced mainly through suggestions from players (as happens a lot with many board games these days). There are a whole range of Expansion Events which I haven't used but which I will look at for possible future games. I adopted some of these (and added a couple of my own) but some need to be balanced with effective game play, I think, and not over-loading the Event "deck".

Incidentally, Kingmaker is being re-designed (or has been - I never checked to see if how far down the process it is). There were some inaccuracies in the game (such as coat-of-arms for some nobles) and there was a little criticism that some of the nobles represented were marginal in the actual history. But I think the re-design (Kingmaker v2) is probably more to do with adding or changing Events, as much as anything else.

I found my old copy af the Avalon Hill version of Kingmaker (in the same carton together with a copy of Britannia, Titan, History of the World, Pax britannica, 1830,1835,1856, 1870...), into the box I found optional events and crown cards, now I'll read again the rules and tell you something...

When I was younger I vowed to visit every castle on the map ... perhaps I should get round to finishing the challenge!
