AAR: 86270. PD Versailles Tournament Game D3

Game 86270. PD Versailles Tournament Game D3 is the 28th PDVT game to finish, being the sixth of 8 semifinals / Phase 2 games to finish.

Image Image charliep007 earned 46 points in game D3: 3way DRAW 30 Poland 15 Egypt 1
Image Image Joll_Dizz earned/inherited 45 points in game D3: 3way DRAW 30 Germany 12 Czechoslov. 3
Image Image spudboy earned 38 points in game D3: 3way DRAW 30 France 0 Rumania 8

Image Image CrnaZemlja earned 0 points in game D3: USSR 0 Yugoslavia 0

Scores are also listed here.

Unfortunately, this game was plagued by surrenders.
I understand the frustrations that players had, like YohanTM (who had played Italy), who was upset with what the Germany replacement did.
However, I was really frustrated with the multiple PMs he sent that were laced with accusations of cheating. These are anonymous players games; I most certainly never tell anyone who is in their game--there' no chance of conspiracy against a particular player(s).
Anyway, I really didn't like the first reason that YohanTM gave me of why he wanted a replacement, so I didn't put in the effort to find another replacement in that game.

all I can say on this game is that it was dreadful on so many levels. though i'd like to thank the chap who stood in for Germany and also to Spudboy, who even though his major got wiped out, played a great game with his minor Rum to get into a 3 way draw.

5 surrenders in a semi-final. Just says it all really.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to sub in. I have little to no sympathy for Italy as something very similar happened to me early on in this tournament (as im sure others too). With so many exposed sc's ready for italy to close in on a solo, i was forced to try and deceive him right off that start or be faced with the same possibility every season on. Tip of the hat to Poland and Rumania for a well fought game and I wish you luck in the final.

Just my cent after going through the Public Press of this game, I wasn't a player here.
I think White Wolf, the original Germany, misclicked "Surrender" instead of "Accept" in the Statistics Box, as the Surrender happened at exactly the time the game should have ended in a 3way.
For reasons unknown to me White Wolf didn't try to PM Sinny and get back in the game.
Quite bad luck for the Italian player, quite good luck for Charlie ;)

Looked at the board - sad to see a game ravaged by surrenders like this, particularly after all the hard work Sinny has put into running this tournament. I may have had a lousy result in my C and D games, but both had seven engaged players in them, for which I am grateful.

Almost makes you wish there was a club you could join to have quality games unmarred by surrenders. :)

I know I owe AARs on both my games - will post something.

Sinny - THANK YOU for running this tournament. Thank you thank you thank you!

Surrenders! In a semi Final!

Disappointing behaviour from those players considering the hard work put in by Sinnybee.

p.s
Wish I had played in this game considering I was crushed in my semi's.

The surrenders, while not commendable, actually made for quite a wild game. I've never seen Rumania do so well. That was due largely to help from Charlie007 as Poland, even though he stabbed me twice!

I've created a game called "The Supremacy of Rumania" to commemorate the finish!
