As Italy & Egypt, I went for a straightforward attack on Turkey & Greece while trying to keep Germany, France and England/Spain peaceful.
That worked quite fine, I did well against Turkey while Germany and England did well against France.
Russia had however annexed Poland by this time, and started to oppose my expansion East.
I offered him a 3-way with Germany, but after his refusal, I sticked with Britain and Germany which had proved much trustworthy since the beginning.
A good and successfull choice, as they have both been worth my trust to the end.
My special thanks to Germany, who faced a much more complex game, but kept his alliance with me from start to end.
Thanks to Britain and France for not turning against me and apologies to Turkey for what must have looked as a focused hatred by me.

Simoncarr hasn't been back to the site much since having a heart attack, so obviously his surrender is excused. Still, he apologizes for disappearing halfway through the game.
We all wish you recovery, health and strength, simoncarr!

Aye; all the best to Simon in a swift return to full health and thanks to everyone else for the game.

This game started as a rollercoaster for me then ended as a Sunday stroll. I misread things from the started when I piled into France whilst Poland got the jump on me. Much apologising was to be done and then trying to persuade Poland of the error of his ways. Luckily Czech my minor could lend a hand and USSR was only too happy to take advantage of Poland's move west.

Later in the game trust developed between Italy, Britain and myself and after dispatching France we formed a sort of version of a Western Triple to stop the then board leader; USSR. USSR did a great job of trying to king-make Italy but luckily the alliance survived for which credit to Italy is undoubtedly due.
Classicist.
