The old Western Triple was applied here, given a Versailles spin. As Germany, I knew that I would be the most under threat and liable to be stabbed in a Western Triple, because Germany always is, but I went for it as it was the best offer on the table. From that point on I made sure I put maximum effort in being as helpful and communicative as possible to keep the alliance together, and keep everyone on an equal footing. I knew from early on I was passing up any chance of a solo, but I was gaming the tournament a bit - having already got a 3-way draw in the bank, I reckoned a second 3-way draw should be enough to qualify. That wouldn't happen in the semis, you're likely to need a solo to make the final. Thanks to juangrisart and entoz for being excellent and loyal allies.

An acceptable strategy. Don't forget that a small part of Phase 1 results will account for Phase 3 / Final board qualification.
I like the look of the final map, with the 3-way split of the board.
