Proposal 305 - Amend 206 to read:

An adopted rule-change takes full effect immediately following the completion of the turn it was proposed, with the following exceptions:
1. Adoption of any player-proposed entity or concept that singles out the author or any other player, by name or other identifying property, will be delayed indefinitely.
2. There are no other exceptions. This rule is narfable.

At first glance, this looks like a rule change destined to bring about a Rule 213 ending ;)

I am also intrigued by the combination of

. Given the way the rule is formatted, this implies that one exception is that there are no other exceptions. Is this a double negative?

I guess what I am really saying is I am trying to understand why you put clause 2 there.

I just wanted a narfable clause. I can pare it down to one exception if desired.

One of my favourite aspects of the game is that the rules don't take effect immediately.

Also, a rule without a nickname? I can't vote AYE to a rule without a cool nickname.

I will revise the proposal to say that Things may not exist prior to the adoption or rejection of the rule proposal which they accompanied.

You may nickname this the "Fair Application of Rule Tennents" Act.

Apply that to the title. These things make me ever so happy.

I don't want to rock the boat if this is what everyone wants, but I also really just kind of like that rule as is generally speaking. I'd vote it if you just amended it to be narfable and left it otherwise the same.

I must add my voice to Crunkus. I do not like the restrictions this brings in, and I DO think it creates a lot of confusion.

I think perhaps my biggest problem is I don't understand the benefits you envisage, Ugluk. I can see the negatives of the change, but so far the balancing positives elude me. Can you elucidate?
