WAR IN THE AMERICAS - reserves needed

The third running of War in the Americas is upcoming. Sign-ups please! I aim to get this started around 5 November if possible.

Ten players, map of the whole of the Americas including the Oceans. Standard rules entirely apart from the navigable rivers and the fact that there are some SCs which act as home centres for later builds (once captured) but not as starting centres.. The two previous ones were ruined by early NMRs, so I'm going to be looking for reliable DVFG players for this one (I hope it will help to demonstrate that it's a decent candidate for the main site.)

It's a large map, and if you're seriously thinking of playing then I strongly recommend you to save it turn by turn to your desktop and use your software to enlarge it (paintdotnet works very well for this.) The Caribbean area gets very crowded so I've included an enlarged version in the north-east corner.

Deadlines will be 3-1-1 and everything else as usual in my games except that I will be treating draw proposals and voting as anonymous (you can tell people, but I won't!) Originally the variant was Build Anywhere, but in the first two games I felt that this unbalanced the game considerably, so this one will be home builds only. Country allocation by Blind Auction, so absolutely no discussion of how you might feel about choices.

In the following rules, phrases in red are amendments to the original rules.

1. Canals and waterways in Americas (they all act like Kiel in Standard):

New York City/New York State- the Erie Canal, allows passage from New York Bay to Eastern Great Lakes
Panama - the Panama Canal, although it was not open until 1912 it is used in the game to cross between the Atlantic and Pacific areas. It behaves like Constantinople in Regular
Magallanes - Magallanes Strait, allows an extra passage between oceans at the bottom tip of South America.
Montreal - St-Lawrence waterway, allows passage from Gulf of St. Lawrence to the Eastern Great Lakes
Trinidad - These groups of islands are treated as a sea/land territories and movement of fleets is allowed from one side to the other, while armies can move through land from West Indies to Trinidad and from Trinidad to Delta.

2. Continuous coasts. Movement by fleets is allowed along the coasts of Toronto, Michigan and Delta as if they were canals, like Denmark in the standard variant.

3. Navigable Rivers. There are two:

The Mississippi-Missouri. Which allows the passage of fleets from the Gulf of Mexico to the Western Great Lakes, passing through the provinces of New Orleans, Mississippi, Kentucky, Missouri, Chicago and Minnesota. Using this waterway, a fleet can move from the Great Lakes to the Ocean or viceversa in 4 turns ordering WGL-Min (or WGL-Chi), Min-Mso (or Chi-Mso), Mso-NOr and NOr-GOM.

The Amazonas. Which allows the passage of fleets through he provinces of Para, Manaus, Amazonia and Loreto.

4. Provinces that have two coasts: Cali, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Chiapas, Ontario and Washington.

5. Misiones province in Argentina has access to the Rio de la Plata, therefore Buenos Aires and Uruguay are not adjacent by land.

6. Supply Centers. There are 61 supply centers, therefore victory is obtained by gaining control of 31 centers. Some of these (Man, Tor, Ala, Chi) lie within the countries, but are considered unsettled or unstable areas that are yet to be conquered; there are no starting units there but once conquered by the home nation they are available as build centres for the home country.

I'd like to request a spot. I've been trying to draw down the number of games I'm in... but I've done that successfully, and this is a good one to add.
