Waterway Chart

Postby The Sea People » 28 Apr 2009, 00:40

Winter of 2001: Panama Canal. This will connect Gulf of California (GoC) and Gulf of Mexico (GoM). It will not border anything else (except for Mexico) BUILT

Winter of 2002: Northwest Passage. This will run through Canada, touching only the Alaskan Sea (Ala) and the Gulf of Maine (GoN). VETOED

Winter of 2003: The Southeast River. This will run from the Southern Mississippi River (SMS) to the Southern Atlantic Ocean (SAt) and border Tennessee (Ten), North Carolina (NCa), Mississippi (Miss), Alabama (Ala), Georgia (Geo), and South Carolina (SCa). VETOED

Winter of 2004: Erie Canal. It will run from Lake Erie (Eri) to the North Atlantic Ocean (NAt). It will border North New York (NNY), New York City (NYC), New Jersey (NJ), and Pennsylvania (PEN). BUILT

Winter of 2005: Magellan Express Route. It will touch ONLY the South Pacific and South Atlantic. BUILT

Winter of 2006: White Sands Aquaduct. Connects the Rio Grande and the Colorado River, touching Arizona (Ari), Four Corners (FCr), and Mexico. BUILT

Winter 2007: Ecuador-Amazon Connector. Runs between and parallel to Pan & Mer; connects SoP to SAt. 12-20

Winter 2008: Costa Rica Canal. Runs north of and parallel to Panama Canal; connects GoC to GoM.

The Deal With Waterways:
You may propose waterways at any time, but they will only be voted on in the winter. You can build a waterway pretty much anywhere. You can create a bay, a river, you can surround a territory, connect rivers, connect turn a nation into an island, build a giant lake in Canada, whatever. The only thing you cannot do is sink somewhere or bisect a territory. It will be voted on. Votes will be determined by supply centers, so if you have 6 centers, you have 6 votes, if you have 17 centers, you have 17 votes (you also win).

Any questions?

That's 18 votes for Yay, 0 for Nay, and 16 Abstentees. There will be a Panama Canal! You can either vote on this forum or PM me if you want.

I'm going to Disney World!!! Er, um, I didn't mean that, Southeast... just a figure of speech! LOL

Seriously, I do think this will make the game more interesting... even if the more likely outcome is that someone else is now coming to Disneyland!

Thanks to those who voted!

I'll put my 3 for yes, even though it doesn't matter anymore.
