So for those of you who haven’t looked at our election system it’s a delegate system that is going to be changed before the end of the century after the Reconstruction/Great Relocation is complete. So right now every region (not including extrasolar colonies) has a number of delegates based off population. The winner of the region takes all the delegates. And the delegates vote on candidates to filled out the Kokkai.
The Kaiyu ran on pulling out of the Cyborg Pact and Legalizing Drugs.
The Shukotai ran on staying in the Cyborg Pact and prohibiting the production of meat in Asteria on religious grounds.
However, law blocking in the Shingikai may wonder how much of the legislative agenda the parties will accomplish.

The Kaiyu won 39.2 million votes. (50.6%)
The Shukotai won 38.2 million votes. (49.4%)
The Kaiyu won 313 delegates.
The Shukotai won 168 delegates.
The Kaiyu have 29 seats in the Kokkai and the Shukotai have 16 seats.
While the vote tally’s were pretty close the Kaiyu’s regional victories gave them a very large margin of control in the Kokkai.
