Ceona has chosen not to officially comment on the current situation, but does send its condolences to the individuals and families hurt in the unrest. If there is anything we or Cairo can do to help, the UMC need only ask. We accept all religions and beliefs so far as they do not actively harm others or break laws.

We elect to retain our neutrality. Since the failed Asterian Crusade, peace has prevailed. We have no desire to upset that delicate balance.

As far as the Federation is aware, there has been no violence as of yet. No one has been injured or otherwise hurt, and we believe that Ceona has a too-pessimistic view of the domestic stability of its fraternal socialist comrades. We also doubt that this situation will escalate to the level where your neutrality in international affairs will be tested, nor will we be forced to invoke our alliance with Mattibea and rain righteous (but Moon-compliant) fury upon those who would defy the eternal revolution.

Official Announcement from the Ministry of Tourism

We are placing a Travel Advisory on the Union of Mattibean Communes. All Federal citizens are warned not to travel to visit our fraternal socialist comrades until this restriction is lifted. We do not wish to fan the flames of religious bigotry: this advisory is not on account of the demonstrations in Tehran. Nor do we intend to cast doubt upon the close and eternal alliance between our two governments. However, elements of the Mattibean foreign service have discussed the practice of eating Venusian eggs at such length that we are no longer confident in the safety and security of our citizens traveling to Mattibea.

We remain committed to a product dialogue with the Government of Mattibea to put an end to the illegal trade in Venusian eggs, and will be pursuing legislation in the Federation of United Nations to establish galactic enforcement against egg-smugglers.
