Is, how I understood it at least. Of course a more proactive pirate queen who leads or starts a bunch of raids will get more power in Libertatia.

Subotai45 wrote:Partly due to Zander getting a little Antimatter-happy, mostly because Matt shot too many missiles, even after annexing some new provinces, Venus lost a net 50 million people during the war, bringing the population down to 3,720,000,000. After the population grows back up, due to the addition of new provinces, the population of Venus will be 3,800,000,000: 30 million more than pre-war due to annexing 8 provinces from the UVSR, while releasing the Nerran Republic as a satellite state. This number does not include the four satellite states liberated from the UVSR, or any other puppet states on Venus. The population of the EoV will grow at 1% per year until it reaches 3.8 billion.

Similarly, the GDP per capita has crashed from 46k to 30k due to wartime destruction and some currency nonsense that will be coming The GDP per capita will also grow at 1% per year until it hits 65,000; which I believe to be a reasonable number.

Actually, going to bounce back a little faster than that. From 30k to 45k, it'll grow at 3% a year, and it'll be the 1% after that. Pop growth unchanged.

Does anyone have an idea for what would be reasonable for not-me Venus? I've traditionally only added five when I annexed new provinces, but that gives total numbers for the rest of Venus at roughly 100 mil, which seems a little low in comparison to homeworld EoV which is 2.785b. But I also don't want to give the puppets too much pop considering that, even though it will increase their relative power against me, it's still a net advantage for me if they have more pop, despite the danger of them being a little more unruly.

Thursday would be a nice starting time, but we should wait until everyone can give input into this motion and the others, and come to a conclusion as a group. And then we would need to give some time to everyone to prepare.

1a. The following powers will reduce their populations as follows over a 20 year (40 day IRL) period. RP is encouraged, but not required.

Mobius 15b -> 5b, with little growth
Venus 14b -> 3.75b, with little growth
The Republic 14b -> 3b, with little growth
Terra 2b -> 450m, with moderate growth (but, as per section 3, Nobody must return to posting to continue growth.)
Mattopia 11b -> 1.4b, with little growth
URMA 4.2b -> 1.4b, with little growth

1b. In order to encourage RP rebellions, etc, judge-level actions may not be called for the duration of the purge on nations engaging in the purge, unless both nations agree to a judging. Specifically, if a country is actively RPing the pop reduction, nations that have to reduce their population cannot have judged actions forced on them for the duration of the RP and for 10 IG years after the RP has concluded. Judging may still occur, but only with the consent of all effected parties.

2. All players agree not to raise their population on a whim, and will only raise their population with in-game justification.

3. A new thread (Population and Demographics) will be created. Population increases must be posted there to take effect.

4. The Purge will begin 48 hours after the passing of this motion.

Since Mobius is actually a little under this (~4.5 billion), and because Pacificans are now sorta colonizing Malaysia-well they're immigrating them, and moving there and stuff, I was gonna bump up Pacifica's population by 15-20 million over the next 20-25 years. To account for Malaysia. This is less than the IRL population of Malaysia which is 31 million.

What do y'all think?

Just want to put some of my population growth estimates out there to clarify my nation's population deficiency(and lack of a need for a purge). Note that I keep these numbers in a personal notebook because I have no time to constantly update my OP.

Population as of 11/26(4547): 96,799,953
4550: 98,356,897
4555: 99,641,251
4560: 101,851,361
4565: 104,526,933
4570: 106,633,734
4575: 108,674,218

This puts my average growth rate at 0.5-0.9% on average. I have kept my growth rate at a very low rate because based on my finite resources of land and economic output capability, the population wouldn't be able to possibly maintain high growth. Having 2 billion people would give me the highest population density in all of CYOC. Hell, most of my country would be urban.

No yeah you're good with numbers that low MK. I'd suggest getting some new land though - you're going to need more to crack like 300m IMO, and you want to get to at least a billion.
