This might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The partisan stripes of the designer (cough - liberal) are also painfully evident.
When playing at war, always remember the origins of war:
1) I raid your cave to steal food and kidnap your women.
2) You raid my cave to steal food and kidnap my women.
3) Someone's kid gets hurt.
4) It all goes downhill from there

It was intended to benefit either side in different fashions but have negative effects as well to balance it out. It wasn't intended as a political statement. I hadn't even considered the fact that someone would take offense at this. But if you think I'm a liberal because of this or you and others offended by this I'll take it down. It was just intended as a game… also if you think this benefits liberal positions too well then you can just suggest modifications to balance it out instead and I'll make fixes where necessary.

General rule of thumb is that you don't have to take something down just cause one single person didn't like it. :)

Yeah, don't take it down because of one guy.

I do think it might be a little complicated though. Some of the stuff, like abortions and gun control, I don't really think we're an issue back in the day, so you might be able to leave it out and simplify the game a bit. If you want the mechanics of running a state, maybe look into some historical issues that you could put in there instead, to have the same mechanics with a 18th century feel.

I think there are some really cool game mechanics in here, especially with the 5 parties, controlling different states and parts of government. I agree, remove some of the other mechanics that are more modern and this could be a really cool game. I'd be happy to PM with you and work out some of the kinks if you want to build it further. I have a degree in Poli Sci and an unhealthy love of History.

I'm worried that the president has too many points. It would be really, really hard to win without being president, especially because all lower offices will be divided among a couple of parties.

My formula had been 50 / amount of people per branch. But I see where your coming from. I'll change it to 30 pts. Think that is good or still too high? Also another formula I was thinking of was:
Governor, Senate, House & Court each are separate groups. Whoever has the most in each gets 5 pts, 2nd gets 4 pts etc. Whoever is President will get 3 bonus pts.
