Like a refined versoin of Austria, once it gets out of that zone where it is vulnerable, it can become a powerhouse.

I think my problem with this thought is, neither Brest nor Brussels has a legitimate shot at a third center without "going to war" and London makes a nice target for both of them.

Also, starting in London, building a fleet or an army has little bearing on getting Liverpool other than you could move to Yorkshire and have a shot at your choice in the Fall assuming of course nobody moves to the North Sea or the English Channel in the Spring.
Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

Be careful when you blindly follow the masses. Sometimes, the M is silent.

That is true, that is why we need diplomacy in these games.

I don't know about you, but I had an almost exhausting level of diplomacy with my neighbors and I was kind of phoning it in compared to usual.

You weren't my neighbor by most reasonable interpretations. I suppose you could've decided to break from your Denmark attack into the North Sea, but it seemed unlikely. :)

Simply put, what a waste of my time and everyone you whittled in this game. Honestly play like this is horrendous. You complain about the game being boring, yet are married to your ally. You call yourself a player who plays to win. Fuck that. You should be ashamed of yourself.

They held hands and walked into the winner circle as a couple?! Well that's just plain adorable.
The first quality that is needed is audacity.

You should have been conducting diplomacy with all powers to some extent in the early game ..granted without peace from dublin that is a moot point for London in this game.

I'm torn on that subject in these bigger games presser. I used to operate with that mentality, but I found I wasted a lot of effort on setting up diplomatic relations with powers that did not exist within 2 years time.
