yes...they are pretty much the same. Gaul is a form of Celtic, referring to the Celtic peoples that lived in Gaul (mostly France) during the Early and Middle ages. To compare, that would be like saying Spaniards are the same as Catalan. Catalan is a form of Spanish spoken in Northeastern Spain. Sure they are relatively the same, but if you say the Catalan, you are referring to people of Northeastern Spain, not the Entire spanish speaking populace. Same with Gaul and Celtic. Gallic is another term used to refer to the Gauls, while Gaelic is used to refer to the Celtic peoples of Ireland, Scotland, and Northern England.

OK. Thanks. Most books so have read used them interchangeably, so I mist have gotten confused.
