Ever feel like you TOTALLY would have dominated the game, but you got stuck with Italy/Austria.

Ever think that the standard map isn't really "balanced" despite people telling you it is

Ever think that 7 players just doesn't make sense because someone HAS to get teamed up on 2v1 because there is an odd number of players.

Then this game is for you.

8 player, standard rules, perfectly symmetrical map.

http://variantbank.org/results/rules/m/migraine.htm

Highlights of map rules--

Corner places of Chimura/Cantaria are in both places...units in one are also in the other
The cardinal spaces (North/South/East/West) are NOT the same space...but are adjacent (North/Ant...and East/West...not North/West obviously)
You can wrap-around move from sea zones that have the same name (Royal/Majestic/etc)
The arrows allow for army movement from Island to Island and do not have any bearing on the fleet in the water (or vice versa)

I want to run this as a 3/1/1.

Start with a Winter 1900.

I will put up full house rules when I get 8 players, but everything is pretty standard.

Awesome idea!

I was actually thinking of making a perfectly symmetric hexagonal map, for 6 players. You beat me to it, I suppose.

Question: Are there supposed to be 2 Cantaria's? Or is it the same province? The map doesn't seem to wrap. Also: Chimara and Chimura? Do you want us to misorder?

Oh I want to sign up. But I have so little time, and starting a new job soon also. First world problems!
Draw in Diplomacy Stew 2, playing Italy
Winner Four Seasons, playing England
Draw in Layered, playing Yellow (Russia + Turkey)
Winner Shuffle, playing Turkey
Winner Vain Rats 4, playing France

... but first you must learn how to smile as you kill.

I'm assuming there will be a blind auction for starting positions?

The map does wrap...both Cant and Chim are the same place...and you can move from East Royal to West Royal (and others) in order to bring you into contact with more countries

And I didn't come up with it...its just been one I have wanted to run for a while

Do you want your name down?

Actually no...since every place is perfectly symmetrical the GM will randomly assign people to countries.

Are you interested?

That was a joke, actually. Put me down as a reserve, or if you need an 8th to start. I'm more into mega-map games now, but I'm willing to play if you have trouble getting an 8th.

Too many games right now, but I'll reserve.

The more I look the bigger the headache, but the more I want to play! I'm in!
However, can I request that we don't start until next Friday? I'm going to be doing some intense dissertation research next week and I don't think I should be distracted by a new game. But after that I should be all clear.
