The one thing I dislike about Ancient Med is the sheer number of neutral supply centers it has: 19.
19 neutrals, for just 15 HOME SUPPLY CENTERS.
According to Math, roughly one third of the map should be neutrals. In Ancient Med, over half of the supply centers are neutrals.
Now, I believe that this is part of the reason Ancient Med is so popular; people get more neutral supply centers. Everyone loves playing a game where you'll get three neutrals in the first year! But for me, this ruins a lot of the early-game tension.
Now, I'm guessing I'm missing something, as I don't actually have that much experience with the variant, and others do. I'm just curious what it is I'm missing.
And I know this isn't really strategy, but I wasn't sure where else to post this.
