LOTR Middle Earth variant FULL (looking for reserves)

Postby presser84 » 22 Mar 2012, 03:20

I am interested in GM'ing a LOTR based forum game. I'm thinking maybe 5 armies (which is actually a 7 player game) or Middle Earth VIII which is an eight player variant and is a little different. In Middle Earth VIII each player has a fortress that has an extra defense of 1 and there is only one movement, retreat, and adjustment phase per year. This means negotiations are critical every year and leaves lots of room for plenty of diplomacy between players. A stabbing type of player may do very well here. Also an army can be converted to a fleet and vica versa. There are specific rules for this which the variant is vague about. I would clarify them before we started if that's what people pick.

For this one I would edit the map so that it would be much easier to distinguish each power and the sea.
EDIT: here's the new map IN LIVING COLOR

My personal choice would be Middle Earth 8

Dude, I am about to unveil a game exactly like this. I have the map set and everything! It took me FOREVER to get it right, but I just finished! I love LOTR and perhaps you could let me GM this variant?

I am interested in the 8-person+ Middle Earth variant. What is the timeline for giving orders?

I meant parring down the number of games I'm playing at once. That's why I've been offering to GM.

Dude, I have been working on a map of my own as well. I already Photoshoped the ME8 map to better show the starting centers with colors. I'm working on the units. I've wanted to start this for some time but I was purposefully waiting for the team tournament to end before looking for interest.

I'm thinking 3-1-1
