Winter 1844

Postby Morg » 22 Jan 2012, 23:02

As you wind your ways up the hills, it begins to snow large, heavy, wet flakes. It immediately begins to stick on the cold frozen ground. Boots slip and wagons slide as the regiment works its way up the hill. Your regiment isn't going to get far, you might as well have not even broken camp. The snowpocalypse is here. The mick brigade calls it snowmageddon. Pssht, what do they know. Here in Seattle we use both terms

Winter is here and you have until Monday the 23th to get me orders. I will need orders by 1600PST or 2400GMT.
For the record, Texas & Mexico have builds. Spain has a disband.

Um...you copied those terms from Chicago's Chi-zard of 2011.

Well actually they were used to describe the snow we got in November 2010 as well. When the city abandoned over 200 buses and people ran out of gas on the freeway. I don't know where they originated, but they are probably used quite frequently.

Seattle just can't handle snow, at all, I mean really, all we ever get is rain so snow really screws us up, especially when it comes in doses larger than an inch.

Yeah. Chicago's snow threshold (damn science teacher, 107 f*cking questions, about 10 of them on threshold) is about 10 inches. Lake Shore Drive got f*cked up. A teacher at my school was stuck there all night. It only took me 3 hours to make a 35 minute trip.
