Organizing the Archives

Organizing the Archives

Postby NoPunIn10Did » 29 Jun 2018, 19:32

GMs and fellow players:

I'd like to do a restructuring of our current PbF archives. We have lots of notes all over the place regarding which games do and don't have maps.

I personally find that makes it rather difficult to navigate. I think it might be time to segment the archive in twain: one subforum that indexes all the lost-map games, and a new subforum for games where maps have been preserved. When a particular variant has games that fall into both categories, I'll leave a link behind in that variant's subforum to the missing-maps game subforum.

Does this sound reasonable?

:)

While doing it...see if any of the GMs of the maps who are missing are still around and invite them to link their maps...they may still have some and are willing to put them back together.

Couldn't we just add a note to the title (Maps lost)?

[edit] it looks like that is already there. It seems like that solves the issue. I don't know why you'd want to have to go to two separate locations for archived games. Although if you did it by time since game, that would probably be better than by maps.

I'd like to be able to pull up an archive of games where all the maps are still there, so that you don't have to comb through the dead ones. I think it would also be more useful for GMs looking for games to run again; it's not terribly useful to use mapless games as a basis.

Personally, I like the way it is now, where we have all the games we've run in the same place.

I don't have super strong feelings on this, but I think the way it is now is better, cause it keeps everything in the same place rather than making people search through two archives.
