Or perhaps to add to the style, they can move over another unit and move into a space two spaces away, to reflect their aerial nature. That would keep stilgars island and other territory locked areas in play.

Ok, now I see the potential problem with the escort order. The easy solution is to say that units escorting another unit cannot be supported to hold, thereby leaving them vulnerable to a double. My main concern with having a convoy-type order available was to allow units to move more easily from the home SCs to the front lines. I felt this was important to help keep the pace up, especially in the late game where the front lines might be quite far from home.

About the Ornithopters, I was considering a wing type unit, it would certainly fit. As it is, however, armies are able to move to any adjacent space. Worms are the only units limited to sand only. I'm just not sure they would be different enough to justify them, unless I misunderstand your meaning of any adjacent space. I also considered duplicity rules of some sort (multiple units in a single space) but ultimately it came down to the fact that I really dislike adjudicating games with those sort of rules. Things are complicated enough as it is, let alone with those special rules in place. Of course, that would be a potential solution to places like Stilgar's Island, if we do not change the map.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. Obviously their were a few more problems than I was aware of and it's great to be able to find them before the game starts. It's also great to see the interest in this.

I refer to my post above... I just can't see a realistic dune game without 'thopters. That being said, WWI definitely had planes, while Dip does not.
