World War IV: Spring 2101

Postby BigBert » 26 Aug 2011, 16:13

All orders of spring 2101 are in in time (one was sent only to Sinnybee, hence the misunderstanding). Well done, keep this up everybody!

So here they are: the much anticipated opening moves of World War IV. Everybody seems to be using this year to pick up as many neutral centers as possible. Every unit except one (can you spot which one that is?) is given a move order, but already in the first move, some bounces occur. Are these bounces all agreed on, or are more sinister things going? Only the countries involved can tell...

No units have been dislodged, which means we move straight on into the Fall of 2101.
Deadline for Fall 2101 orders is Tuesday, 30 August, 15.00 GMT

A few notes from me:
* I can't get the units of the Amazon Empire to show the right flag. I've tried to edit this manually in the WWIV files, but without any success. This means we're going to have to leave it this way. Still, the flag they now have is also unique, so I assume this isn't too big a problem.
* Don't forget that sending orders to Sinnybee only does not work, either send them to me, or to both of us.
* Some orders weren't quite correctly notated, I've put some comments below next to those orders. As long as it's unambigously clear what the order means, the order will go through, but please do try to be as precise as possible with the orders. That is: don't forget to specify coasts if needed, and use the correct abbreviations.
* I've added a map without units to the original thread, so that you can see more clearly all the abbreviations, and where borders lie.

And last but not least, here is the new map, with all the orders:

Sorry, I caught one that I noticed was sent only to me, but I missed one.

Thanks Bigbert! I have a question: does the program you are using have a function similar to the "Order history" one in the site, where we could see with arrows what moved where and from what origin, what bounced etc? It would be very handy with 35 powers in the board and 35x3+ units involved!

Yes, in fact it does. I could add that picture to the topic.

By the way, the programme is called RealWorld. It's works really nicely and easily, so should anyone think about GMing a game yourself, be sure to check it out.

So your plan was to get into a fight with the Incans? Good to know.

I definitely approve of how my movements look on the map.

If any embattled nations need supply drops when I fly over, let me know.

Just a quick point.

When sending messages, please can you include WW4 or something similar.

It helps me separate it from the mafia messages (which I'm not getting BTW, because I'm town) and other stuff

cheers.

I've got a suggestion, as long as it isn't too difficult. I love the map with the move orders and conflicts put in arrows, and that's great to understand what orders were given and how they resolved, but it would also be quite helpful to have a map which shows the current position of all the units. I know that it's fairly easy to find out with the arrows, but in the case of some nations (the Song, for instance), It's quite difficult to see some of the arrows, and it would help to see where his units are currently to avoid any mixups. :) Thanks for doing this yet again Bert! <3<3<3<3<3
