Russian Roulette Mafia (D2)

You know you want to.

Just fire it. Don't even read the rules first. What on earth could go wrong with that?
Or just read the rules first, and then make an intelligent decision about how you want to play the game. There have been substantive changes to the rules since you probably skimmed them a few months ago, and not reading rules in detail is the single easiest way to ruin the game for your team. Your choice though, I'm not your mother.

Rules
    Firing the revolver:
  1. You can only fire the revolver at yourself.
  2. To fire the revolver, during any day phase of the game PM me a message with the subject "Pew Pew". You can fire it at yourself as many times as you want. You will be informed of and experience the effect of firing the revolver as soon as I can respond.
  3. The revolver has 6 'bullets' in it. Each bullet does something different and it is random which one of the remaining bullets you will get. The effect of the bullet may impact gameplay in any number of ways.
  4. Each day there will be a new revolver with 6 new bullets. These may or may not have the same or similar effects as the previous day's bullets.
  5. Each bullet has a cryptic name and the mafia will learn the names of the bullets in the night phase preceding the day in which they will be in the revolver.
  6. The mafia will not know the exact effects of the bullets or the order in which they will fire.
  7. The names or effects of the bullets are not public knowledge to the town.
  8. If a player dies from firing the revolver, the party is over and no one else can fire the revolver that day.
  9. A player firing the revolver is not public knowledge unless it has an impact on the whole thread such that others would need to be informed.

    Game structure
    :
  10. There are 2 mafia, 1 jester and 7 townies.
  11. Days will be 72 hours, nights will be 24 to 48 hours depending on the number of players and availability.
  12. Every day will have one normal lynch where everyone votes using huge or large red letters. The lynch resolves at the deadline and the player with the most votes is lynched.
  13. Players may vote for an early End Day by casting an 'End Day' vote in big and blue. Once a majority of End Day votes has been reached, the day ends immediately, and will be processed whenever the GM gets to the thread.
  14. Players may vote to No Lynch by voting 'No Lynch'. No Lynch votes are counted like player votes.
  15. Ties will be resolved with a cointoss.
  16. Mafia can communicate at all times.
  17. The town win when all the mafia are eliminated. The Mafia win when they equal or outnumber the town. The Jester wins if they are lynched.
  18. The Jester is also bulletproof to the mafia's factional night kill. If the Jester is lynched, one member of their wagon will randomly die.

    Conduct rules:
  19. If you have any questions, please PM the GM directly.
  20. Do not copy/paste any sort of message from the GM.
  21. Do not discuss the specific timing of GM communications: this will be considered angleshooting.
  22. Follow these general rules unless otherwise stated in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=307&t=57589#p945395

Now if you're wondering "Why would Nanook do that? Isn't that reckless? Shouldn't we talk it over first?"

The answers are, in reverse order, "Probably," "Almost certainly," and "Because making this game vanilla instead of using the mechanic is boring."

Here to mark the thread and say hello.

And good luck Nook.

Anyway, as Nook has pointed out, is there anything we should talk about regarding this stuff?

Mechanics people, any thoughts? Aes and Commander come to mind.

Happy to see you around for a second game Commander.

Also, greetings to Dweller. Have you played much forum mafia before? What kinds of games are you used to?
You don't know what I'm thinking...because I don't know what I'm doing.

Oh Nanook, surely you jest.

Fatmo there’s nothing really mechanical here to discuss at this point. Either somebody secretly uses the gun, publicly uses the gun, or its vanilla.
