As a Canadian and a hockey fan, we come up with some really well thought out nics. Usually we simply add a "y" or an "sy" to the end of the name.

Ringy or Ringsy?

You know what would be nice to see on the FAQ is terms for alliances. These were all new to me as all my play before this site was with family and friends, and we had no names for these things.

Help page for new members?

Postby jaelis on 30 Jan 2009, 19:46
Hi, I just signed up a few weeks ago, and I'm enjoying the site very much. I've played FtF enough to not have any actual rules questions (and anyway, I know how to read the manual). But there are a number of other things that I've only gradually figured out. It would be nice to have that information in a central place. A help tab would be great, but a stickied forum thread would work too. Maybe the "Site Navigation" tab could be generalized and developed a little more? Right now it just has the ranking system... my other questions are kind of in the same category.

Specifically, some things I'd include are:
- The differences between public/private and rank/no rank games
- How surrenders work
- Guidelines on cheating and metagaming
- The fact that orders can often be placed after the game timer hits zero
- The fact that unplayable orders will be accepted without comment
- Forum games

I'm sure there's some other things that I haven't run into yet.

I also wouldn't be surprised if there is something like this already, but I just haven't come across it. In that case, my suggestion would be to make it more visible :)

How about distinguishing among NAPs, as local NAP and global NAP?

Feel free to write up what you are thinking, as I don't see much difference, and it is possible you see something that does distinguish between the 2.
