JoeHoya06
Nicknames: Joe, J-Rock, The Most Polarizing Man in PlayDip Mafia, The Vanilla Thrilla
Announced Height/Weight: 6'1", 210
From: A reasonably economically well-off area known vaguely as "The Main Line"
Look: Joe has short, dark hair, clean-shaven but usually with some stubble. He can generally be seen wearing jeans or khaki pants, whichever is appropriate for the occasion. He's into sweaters right now, or maybe a button-down with the sleeves rolled up, but in the summer, it's golf shorts, t-shirts, and sandals all the way. When he wears a suit, the jacket is always on, and the tie never is. There is a very "Mean Street Posse" vibe to his leisurewear, but sweater vests are out of the question.
In the ring, Joe wears pants because wrasslin' briefs ride up a little too much for his liking. He wears a t-shirt featuring a photo of himself wearing a t-shirt featuring a photo of himself, but he usually takes it off to fight, because he only has the one shirt and doesn't want to rip it (his apparel deal isn't finalized yet).
Entrance: The arena goes dark. The opening sounds of "Cochise" by Audioslave permeate the building. Men scream. Women swoon. He's here!
The video board shows a waveform that follows the sound of the music. Once the guitars start, the pyro goes off, and Joe comes out from the back to the delight/utter contempt of the crowd, depending on the day. He looks around, just a little bit too satisfied with himself, and walks down to the ring. Imagine how long you think it should take him to get there; it takes him about 10-15 seconds longer. Not so long that you're mad, but long enough that you think, "okay, come on, we're ready, man." On the board, you see clips of him kicking ass, taking names, and smiling at the camera a lot.
Gimmick: Despite the outward charm, Joe has a bit of a chip on his shoulder; he was never really accepted by the rich kids at school because his family wasn't wealthy, but he was just well-off enough that the other kids resented him for it, and it's never really left him. He cracks jokes, like he always has, to hide the insecurity, but the fire to prove himself burns inside. He wants nothing more than to win the PMWL championship and finally make everyone admit that he belongs.
When he gets on the mic, he's going to make you feel something; if you like him, you love him, and if you don't, then he's going to tweak every last nerve you have. Ultimately, he's part stand-up comic and part technically-sound (if not quite proficient) bar-room brawler.
Finishing Move Name And Description: Downtown: a sort of modified Rock Bottom. Instead of placing the right hand on the soon-to-be-vanquished opponent's left shoulder, he grabs the enemy under both arms, with his head under their right arm as if he's going to tackle them, but instead lifts them in the air for a few seconds (a really good opponent will sell it by kicking their feet around like they're struggling) before spinning around and slamming them flat on the canvas and rolling them up for a crowd-pleasing/enraging pin. Joe refers to it as "Taking you Downtown," or "Going Downtown." Fans may chant "Downtown! Downtown!" afterward.
Naptime: A sleeper hold, generally accompanied by a finger over the lips in a shushing gesture.
