There is a poll open at the moment in Suggestions for changing the starting positions for Versaillles AoE. It is here https://www.playdiplomacy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=58844. This announcement thread is to ensure people who do not normally trawl the forums get a chance to vote . The thread explains the justifications, and since it is easy to change these starting positions, once the poll is over any successful changes will be made.
