Method of assigning countries

Postby Pedros » 30 May 2011, 16:11

I'm going to use the Blind Auction Bidding system for country allocation (http://dipwiki.com/index.php?title=Blin ... on_Bidding) Basically this means you can go all out to get a particular country (but if somebody else does that as well then you get left with something nobody else wants!) or spread your bids around the place to give yourself the best chance of getting a country you at least regard as reasonable. It's Blind because there is absolutely no discussion or negotiation allowed - if it comes to my attention that anybody has been discussing their bid they will instantly be disqualified!

Check the rules and ask any questions in good time. The only change from the rules there will be that (because there are 10 countries) you have 200 points to bid, with a maximum 160 for any one country and a minimum of 1 per country. Any player not expressing a preference is allocated 20 to each country. The auction will start when the ten players are finalised.

Finalising players

Postby Pedros » 30 May 2011, 16:15

We now have ten players signed up, but as I said previously I aim to ensure we have reliable players in this game. Many of those ten I know to be reliable, but some I do not, so I'm doing some checking.

Quick question: looking at the map, it looks like there's a bunch of territories that are British, but don't start with a unit. Do those all count towards Britain's totals? I.E. if no one takes over British Guyana the first turn, can Britain count it as a territory and build a unit there? I'm going off the map on variantbank, btw.
