Mentor Game for March, 2019

If you are new to the site, and especially if you are new to the game, this might be a good way to start some games. Mentors will help with the mechanics of the game.

I’m keen to get into a mentor game. Briefly, I’ve been aware of Diplomacy since around 1990, played it properly for the first time in 1999 and only now appreciate it for what it is. I know how to issue orders but have only played against a handful of coerced students whom I teach...probably time to step things up a little! Thanks.

Hey Pope,

:)@ 'coerced students'. Yes, sounds very similar to how I 'introduced' some of my high school friends to the game. Added you to the list.

I've played Diplomacy but I'm new to the site. I would like to join a gunboat game where orders process every 2-3 days so that I can get used to the interface, entering orders, etc. Would it be possible for someone to create such a game?

* Classic board and rules
* Gunboat
* 2-3 days between orders (no processing on weekends)
* Random power assignments

In light of the above post, perhaps I could also specify my wishes for a game? I'm after a regular (non-gunboat) game with a turnaround of every 2-3 days - I work late on many days and won't be able to indulge in anything remotely diplomatic until I've done, so need a few days as a turnaround.

Thanks!

I would happily become a mentor. Although I'll need to wait for a couple of my games to finish up as I am currently at 5 which is capacity as I am not premium. But as soon as I finish one I will leave that spot empty. I don't think I will try 5 again any time soon.

Edit: cleared game 5. Only 4 now so I’m officially free.

If you're now officially free, does that mean you could start a mentoring game? If so, please count me in - although I won't be available from 8 to 12 April inclusive, bar a couple of communications (I'm supposed to be on holiday!)

I don't have the official permissions yet. But once I have those I'd be happy to host one.

I lied. I just don't have them on the forums. But I just made a teaching game! One moment while I set some stuff up and I will PM you and post it. I can't start tonight tonight. But tomorrow I should have some free time.

The folks below (asterisked) haven't expressed interest in playing a mentored game in a while and may just be carryovers from previous lists.
