THIS APPLIES TO GAMES IN PLAY-BY-FORUM GAMES ONLY!

Games can be ruined when a player drops out because he/she is down to one or two centres and they lose interest. It can completely alter the balance and give another player an edge which alters the result. So we're looksing for reliable, committed players who will pick up those positions and play them out to the bitter end.

1. Players with a history of surrenders or a lot of NMRs can't join the list - what would be the point? I'll check with other GMs before adding you to the list. We like to see 2-3 forum games completed with no issues, just so we know you won't be picking up a spot just to leave it or not submit orders!
2. Putting your name here doesn't mean that you can be drafted in by the GM without your say-so. If a GM is in this position - a vacancy with one or two SCs - they will probably post publicly as usual, but they may well PM everybody on this list to ask if anybody is able and willing.
3. Putting your name here does mean that you'll aim to be reliable in the game, getting orders in regularly. You don't necessarily promise to enter into lots of discussions and make deep alliances (though you can if you wish - people have occasionally pulled off a solo from this sort of position), but it does mean you'll at least give or take support wherever you can get it and wherever you feel it would be useful for the game.
4. Players who join a game and then let it down will be removed.
5. Anybody who is on the list can add something like "Soldier in 'Cavalry to the Rescue'" to their signature!

Active PbF players who were on the old list are, honourably, still there!

So - any takers?

*There has been a change in Captaincy since this was originally posted. Pedros has gone in to retirement (old soldiers never die, they just fade away) and GhostEcho and Nanooktheeskimo have become Co-Captains of the Cavalry. Luckily Nanooktheeskimo happens to have the second post in this thread and as such I will move the original post by Pedros to this thread for updating. Nanooktheeskimo's original statement is quoted below.
nanooktheeskimo wrote:I'm gonna make my mama cry and my papa proud. I'm gonna show them tree huggers what-for. I'm gonna win by any means necessary, including kicking the enemy in the shin, then hitting his man-bits to finish things if he has any. I'm gonna dig in the dirt, hopefully with tonka trunks. I'm going to pretend the cavalry is the infantry because I already wrote all this without thinking that part through. In other words, sign me up cap'n!

Thanks guys. All added. nanook - apology - I intended to add you when I started this; it was your post in the old thread that made Morg and me look at it.

Imagine what a shame it would be if you had, I wouldn't have gotten to write that sign up post!
