I guess the point of these games is to make friends, to build bridges between Playdip and Webdip, and to possibly get an Inter-site classicists group going.
If all we manage to do is have Playdip players beat Webdip players into a pulp :o , then raphtown, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to PM the top 10 Playdip players :? ...

Well, I PMed the top PlayDip players ~after~ seeing who made up the WebDip team. They are all within the top 20 on WebDip, with 3 in the top 5. These guys aren't kidding, they even have a recent Boston Massacre FtF champ mixed in there.

For better or for worse, this has shaped up to be one of the highest level games ever.

May I say a few words. This was intended to be friendly game and not contest between sites. Its good thing that leading players will lead cooperation between sites. The games would be under strict rule and metagaming or predefined alliances are not going to be allowed. There will be 7 players from each site plus reserves, and the winner would be player XY and YZ or something, and that player/s could say that he is the winner of the first inter-site game/s. Site can win, only the people can win. Diplomacy is unlike football individual game. So if we look it from the right side, every player should be worried how he will present his skills rather than how would he present his site, because if he want to win, he have to beat players from both sites :D

I played on both site for about a year or something like that, and I have huge respect for some people on this site, just like I have it for some people on the webdip. From raphtown post I can see that he have the same opinion. The players are the same, here or there, they are individuals who like to play this wonderful game, and with inter-site bridge (great idea from raphtown) some great players will get opportunity to play with each other (something that wasn't even thinkable before week or two).

To conclude, enjoy the game and thank Raphtown for the inter-site bridge, it doesn't meter from witch site winner will come, what matter is who the winner would be, and even more important to have more games like this in future :)

I was kind of wondering this myself; and as far as I know, I'm supposed to be in one of them

I'm not familiar with the way Web Dip works, but it looks like Austria may have NMRd in spring 01. Am I missing something?

Also, what are those green, circled Ds all over the place? They seem important.

Yes, Austria ... has NMRed... Great impression we are making...

We will probably restart the game, and I will need another player to take up the mantle.

The Ds are one of two ranking methods webdip employs, called diplomacy points. You can bet on games with them. However, it is not considered the primary ranking system by the players.
