don't pick fights with the bullies or the cads

Postby rd45 » 16 Aug 2015, 17:02

Hi there -
Are you looking for a friendly & enjoyable game of vanilla Dip, with respectful & articulate comms and only the strictly necessary minimum quantity of lying, stabbing & beastly unpleasantness? Yes, me too. Sometimes they seem so hard to find that I'm even considering creating one myself.

So, if I did... would you be interested in joining? Reply here if you are, and if we get anything more than a pitiful trickle of enthusiasm, I'll push the button. I'm thinking classic map & standard rules, ranked, casual classicist, secret ballot & DIAS, 3/1/1 or even 5/1/1 deadlines - that sort of thing.

Anyone?

[edit: I finally created it. It's game 108066: Dignity. Always Dignity. Has now started.]

Horrid, horrid diplomats. I'm only interested in the nice ones now. Like you, Gav, for example. You're lovely of course.

Isn't the grade of sympathy dependent on the game-state?

And you're lovely too, Dreepa. It goes without saying that none of this should be taken to refer to the current state of affairs in any given game. I do believe that would be against the rules. Just gauging enthusiasm for a future game.

Of course it's possible that I'm swimming against the tide, and that everyone else is looking for the maximum amount of beastly unpleasantness.

If this is 3/1/1, then I would certainly consider joining this game.

I'd be interested; I do prefer games with more reasoned stabs etc. Or we could just call it a 7-way draw in 1905 and have wonderfully polite discussions over tea.

I'd lean towards longer deadlines 5/1/1, but I may still sign up if it's 3/1/1 (but may not, depending on what's going in RL at the time of game creation).

Sorry, I've let this thread get a bit cold - but I'm still very much interested in the game. I have two other games that are still going strong, and don't really have time for a third - so perhaps we can start in a few weeks if anyone is available then.

I'll look forward to it.

Would it be bad form for me to point out that I am trying to get a 2-1-2 game going along the same lines.
Four players so far.

I apologize if this would be regarded as an inappropriate attempt to hijack your thread.

Not at all bad form - you're ahead of me, my game doesn't exist yet - so you get first dibs. Hope you get to the full seven soon.
