Really wish I hadn't lookeed at this right before bed. No sleep now. I'll just be kicking myself all night. Ugh.

Quick question - is there anyone else who thinks this game has lost most of its momentum?

With no negotiations or diplomacizing I am finding it hard to get interested in the moves. Is there interest in a quick draw? Or is this just me? If just me, perhaps someone more interested in the game wants to play Libya?

I'm disgusted enough by my own moves that I'd agree to a draw proposal.

Don't be disgusted by your moves - you're the one who is trying for a solo in World. Woo hoo!! :)

Unfortunately, it gets boring for me if there is no negotiations going on, and there hasn't been any diplomacy in this game, for a long time. I would be happy to continue if we could clearly settle whether you and DF could push through us in a short time.

But realistically, I think it will take at least a dozen game years for you guys to prove you can win (or for you to try for a solo). Even if you could push me out of Asia, or break into coastal Africa, which I doubt, you would still have to prove that you can break through into the African continent and the European continent.

A dozen game years a real long time to play Dip without any actual diplomacy. I soloed Modern in 10 game years, and even then the last 2-3 years were painful to get moves from, as all the alliances were stable, and it got boring for everyone to play to the inevitable conclusion. And that looked like an obvious solo from around year 5 - it wasn't a probable stalemate as I think this game is.

I can't see playing this for many years with no diplomacy,. As a strategic/tactical game, Diplomacy takes a serious back seat to Go and Chess, I think - it is in negotiations that it shines.

I'd be happy to let someone take over Libya if you guys want to continue, or alternatively would also be happy with a draw

I would very much be interested in continuing to play. If this were a regular game I'd still be going for it, but at the end of the day it's so hard to write/keep track of/check/coordinate that many orders, that it just because too much effort for not enough game.

But everyone here played a completely mind blowing game and I would be lucky and honored to share victory with any of you.
